What is Pallet Racking?
Pallet racking is a fundamental component of efficient warehouse management systems, comprised of several key elements designed to optimize storage space and streamline operations. At its core are the uprights, vertical columns that provide structural support and stability to the entire racking system. These uprights are engineered to withstand heavy loads and ensure the safety of stored inventory. Paired with the uprights are step beams, horizontal components that span between the uprights to create levels for pallet storage. Step beams feature a step-like design that allows for easy placement and retrieval of pallets, maximizing accessibility and efficiency within the warehouse. Completing the ensemble is wire decking, a versatile decking solution that sits atop the step beams to provide a secure and stable platform for pallets. Wire decking enhances safety by preventing pallets from slipping or falling through, while also promoting airflow and visibility throughout the racking system. Together, these components work in harmony to create a robust pallet racking solution that optimizes space utilization, facilitates inventory management, and enhances overall warehouse efficiency.

Used Pallet Racking is a great way to save money while still getting the storage you need without the price of new pallet racking, usually used metal racking comes with some stickers or have slightly faded paint. Some may have scratches from previous use. You alway want to make sure you have structurally sound material so make sure you are always buying from a reputable dealer. Always make sure you inspect any used racking for bends and twist, often pallet racking has forklift damage that is easy to spot. We always sort out the damaged material to scrap or we will refurbish it to be able to be used again if possible.
